Keep your website cared for after launch

A website needs attention after it goes live. Updates, backups, basic security checks, and routine monitoring can help reduce avoidable problems and make it easier to spot issues early.

BuildKind Web offers optional maintenance plans for eligible websites. The right plan depends on your platform, the condition of your website, and the level of ongoing help you need.

Scope

What maintenance can—and can’t—include

What maintenance can include

  • Routine updates to supported WordPress core, themes, and plugins, where applicable.
  • Backup checks or scheduled backups using an agreed tool or hosting feature.
  • Uptime monitoring and basic availability checks.
  • Basic security and functionality checks.
  • Minor content changes within the time allowance of the selected plan.
  • Communication if a visible issue is identified during routine checks.

What isn’t included

Maintenance is not unlimited development or a guarantee that a website will never experience downtime, security incidents, or software conflicts. Unless agreed in writing, plans do not include:

  • Hosting, domain renewals, email hosting, premium plugin licences, or other third-party costs.
  • New pages, redesigns, custom features, major layout changes, or development projects.
  • Emergency recovery, malware cleanup, hacked-site remediation, or repair of pre-existing issues.
  • Extensive content entry, copywriting, SEO campaigns, or third-party service troubleshooting.
  • Guaranteed response or resolution times beyond those expressly stated in the maintenance agreement.
How maintenance works

Four steps to ongoing care

01

Initial review

The website is checked to confirm whether it is suitable for the selected plan.

02

Access and setup

The client provides the access needed for agreed maintenance tasks.

03

Routine care

Included checks and tasks are performed according to the plan and agreed schedule.

04

Issue reporting

If additional work is needed, it is explained and quoted separately before proceeding.

Maintenance plan notes

The fine print, in plain English

  • Maintenance is optional and begins only after the plan and terms are agreed.
  • Minor-edit time is limited to the allowance stated in the plan; unused time does not roll over unless agreed in writing.
  • Support hours, response targets, payment dates, cancellation notice, backup retention, and included platforms are specified in the maintenance agreement.
  • A site that needs substantial repair before maintenance begins may require a separately quoted cleanup or stabilization project.
  • Availability depends on access to the site, hosting, and required third-party tools.
FAQ

Maintenance questions

Can't find your answer? See the full FAQ page or get in touch.

No. Maintenance is optional. You can request a quote for ongoing support if and when you need it.

Yes, depending on the platform, access, and issue. Some problems can be quoted after a brief review; complex or security-related issues may need a paid diagnostic before a repair quote can be confirmed.

The additional work will be described and priced separately. It will only proceed after you approve the updated scope and cost.
